Hi

One of our bedrooms is noticeably cooler than the others and I guess it is because it is over the garage. The garage ceiling is just plaster/plasterboard and so there is nothing between the cold air of the garage and the bedroom other than this plaster, the floorboards and the bedroom carpet.

Has anyone got any suggestions for insulating between the garage and bedroom eg something that could be fixed to the garage ceiling (and if so how would it be fixed?).

Many thanks

Hi,

I would recommend removing (unscrewing) the plasterboard, put some space blanket in the ceiling and then put the plasterboard back up.

If you don’t fancy removing the plasterboard ceiling in the loft, you could fix polystyrene board insulation to the plasterboard.
