Men may be better at the practical DIY skills, but generally it’s women who come up with the ideas for the décor, which is really what gives a home its style

Jenny you are arent acquainted with my wife. After studying colour charts and wallpaper designs for what seems like an eternity, finally she decides on the décor she likes. But once I’ve painted and wallpapered she starts to have second thoughts and I end up redecorating the same room six months later.

Doh

Women may be able to slap on a bit of paint or wallpaper, but when it comes to the more complex DIY jobs, they always need a man.

aint it the truth

More women are living alone and therefore need to be able to do DIY themselves. That’s why DIY skills courses up and down the country are noticing a big increase in the number of women enrolling/

More women are living alone because they’ve driven their men away by banging on about DIY all the time.

oh oh its so true you know it is.

Women finish a job, whereas men tend to leave it unfinished - or break something in the meantime!

Thats because women just rush and get it done slap dash where as men do it properly so its lasts and they dont have to do it again.

men don't think it through first. for instance my ex once put in a partition wall - not too bad - but then he wallpapered before he put the skirting on. it wasn't so that he didn't need to bother getting the wallpaper cut to the right size because he fussed about getting it straight at the bottom of the wall even though it was going to be covered by wood.

he also put the door in the wrong place so that we had to go througha series of opening and shutting other doors to get into the room

In general men have the clout and the strength but don't seem to have the reasoning or an eye for beauty

I think everyone is bad at DIY, it's human nature, you have a great idea about what you want, you spend hours trying to achieve it, and then get bored half way through and do a half baked job of it. I think you need a motivation section on this website.

i love guiness

Surely its that women are more creative and better at making a home, a woman can do anything a man can they just dont always get the opportunity, because men think they are better.](*,)
