Will I require panning permission to replace the windows in my house? The house is not a listed dwelling.

UK does not require Planning permission as this is classed as permitted development unless it is a listed building or in a conservation area.

You may get some people complain if the replacements are totally out of keeping with the house or area so be a bit sensitive to the look of the property - don't forget you may wish to sell one day and good looking windows will be asset, poor or garish will do the opposite.

No, it’s extremely unlikely you would require actual planning permission for replacing your windows.
Unless you clearly live within a listed conservation area, then you might because your property has to conform to the guidelines laid down by the conservation requirements for that area. Especially if there are many listed buildings, then yes. Windows might fall foul of those kinds of nit picking rules & regulations.

Otherwise no. You only require planning permission for something like a large new garage, large house extension, etc., something that will radically change the size & shape of your property, or directly affect your neighbours.
