Dads 'spend hours tackling DIY'Dads are putting significant amounts of both time and money into DIY projects, it has been revealed.

Over the course of the average week, some three hours and 11 minutes is spent by such males tackling home improvements, the Children's Mutual reveals, with such work typically costing £1,480 throughout the entire year.

Indeed, they spend more time doing DIY than other domestic tasks such as driving their children around and ironing.

However, fathers also appear to be keen on getting to grips with outdoor renovation projects as gardening takes up around three hours of their time each week.

Such work sets them back an annual average of £1,315.

David White, chief executive of the Children's Mutual, points out: "Dads play such an important role within the home and in the lives of their children."
