Britons urged to protect property against floodingHomeowners are being advised to take steps to batten down the hatches against predictions of continued heavy rain.

After residents living in eastern and northern parts of Scotland have been evacuated following serious flooding, states that with heavy downpours predicted in other parts of the country people should shore up their home's defences.

Consequently, DIY enthusiasts could be interested to hear the firm's advice to place sandbags outside their property, as this can help to reduce the amount of water which is able to get into the house.

Such guidance come as it was suggested that one in six properties in England are at risk of flooding.
