    New DIY trend revealed

New DIY trend revealedPeople are increasingly turning to an age-old activity when engaging in DIY, it has been revealed.

According to the allaboutyou.com, the practice of skip hunting is once again on the up, the Guardian reports.

This involves people perusing the contents of the crates when householders are performing their own DIY work, moving out or renovating their property.

Among the top finds in such a venture are locks and latches. In addition, doors, fireplaces, flowerpots and tiles were among the favourites of those making the most of the rich pickings.

Rebecca Smithers, writing for the publication, said her "DIY fanatic" brother managed to refurbish his house, while a friend found entire unwanted MFI kitchen units in great condition.

This idea could lend itself to the notion that a house should be built up over time - an idea put forward by the Times recently.

Not rushing DIY is important in order to make the most out of a property. By doing it in phases, people are able to get to know and understand the building and therefore do a better job.
