Titchmarsh given green light to advise outdoor DIYers

Titchmarsh given green light to advise outdoor DIYersOutdoor DIYers will still be able to get assistance from Alan Titchmarsh at B&Q stores after the BBC confirmed his contract with the hardware store was within the organisation's rules.

The Times notes that BBC presenters are subject to "stringent rules aimed at preventing conflicts of interest" - and Mr Titchmarsh is set to return to British TV screens later this year with the broadcasting network.

Mr Titchmarsh is about to begin filming for a new television show entitled Alan's Garden Secrets.

Horticulture manager at B&Q Steve Guy confirmed that their new frontman will play no role in the company's advertising campaigns, noting that he was "helping with information" and is in place to support the company "with hints and tips for customers".

Mr Titchmarsh was selected to front a campaign for B&Q following a poll of customers which asked who they would trust the most when seeking advice on issues linked to gardening and outdoor DIY.
