DIY tiling advice on trends

DIY tiling advice on trendsAnyone looking to tile their kitchen as their next DIY project has been advised to go for some natural styles and materials.

As one of the key areas of the home, it is vital the right look is achieved when doing up the kitchen.

Simon Errill, managing director at Stonehouse Tiles, detailed some of the trends that are currently being seen in kitchen tiling.

He said: "Using natural materials in the home, such as wood, stone and wool are on-trend as consumers look to bring the outside in this year, creating a more earthy environment - so a natural stone tiled floor or work surface is the perfect finish for any kitchen.

"If you're concerned with creating too minimal a look, then add a mosaic pattern in to a work surface or on a floor to break up the colour and add a focal point."

Meanwhile, writing in the Telegraph recently, Katrina Burroughs suggested that this season's new palettes are challenging DIYers to "abandon safe, neutral schemes for brazen colour".ADNFCR-2244-ID-800023383-ADNFCR
