DIY decorating tips for children's bedrooms

DIY decorating tips for children's bedroomsParents may find it hard to keep up with their child's changing interests. One moment they're into cars and boats, the next they're crazy about football.

And children grow up fast, which means their bedroom decor may be suitable one year and far too immature the next.

To avoid having to redecorate every year, Carl Robinson, design director at Wallquest, suggested simply painting the walls and then using accents to personalise the room.

"Wallpaper stick-ons are an inexpensive way to decorate a room and make a big impression," the expert stated. "There's nothing easier. Don't like it? Replace it."

He added: "One year the walls may be covered with trains and ABCs, the next monkeys and robots. Soccer balls may lead to guitars. Whimsical unicorns can morph into more natural birds and fauna."

Mr Robinson advised parents to involve their children in the decorating process in order to customise the space and make it personal, fun and comfortable.
