Brits 'need more energy efficiency support'

Chris McCafferty, Calder Valley MP, is calling on the government to offer more financial incentives to encourage homeowners to tackle such home improvements.

Furthermore, there needs to be greater advice and support on hand for those wanting to increase their property's energy efficiency, people looking for DIY advice could be interested to hear.

"Tackling energy efficiency must be a priority for the government," she claims.

Ms McCafferty goes on to point out - the Halifax Evening Courier reports - that people living in terraced housing, a type of property which is particularly prevalent in the Calder Valley region, are in particular need of energy efficiency support as such homes are more difficult to insulate than newer builds.

Recent figures from Halifax showed that taking the time to add energy saving features to a home can boost property prices by an average of £4,327.
