Compromise 'no good' for interior design

Interior Design - lets-do-diy.comThere should no room for compromise when it comes to decorating, it has been suggested.

In a piece for the Times, Katrina Burroughs states that although an attempt to find a middle ground may well be useful in attempts to secure global peace or to help get a relationship with a partner back on track, "no good ever comes of it in interior design".

By compromising - whether this is having to settle for a different colour scheme or choosing awkward-sized appliances or features - she points out this "simply leads to dissatisfaction and discomfort".

Meanwhile, those looking to tackle a DIY project may be interested to hear Ms Burroughs' comments that those set to invest a significant sum of money into home improvements should ensure that such work suits their individual tastes and practical requirements.

Earlier this month, Gill Batchelor, of residential sales and lettings agency Chesterton Humberts, told the Daily Mail that homeowners are becoming increasingly imaginative in how they expand the amount of space they have in their property.
