DIY enthusiasts told green features 'can increase property value'

DIY enthusiasts told green features 'can increase property value'DIY Britons can increase the value of their home simply by having green features installed, it has been claimed.

Writing for City AM, Jessie Hewitson described an investment in green technology as "a good use of money", adding that they are becoming an ever-more popular way of reducing the cost of energy bills.

More specifically, Ms Hewitson earmarked cavity wall and roof insulation as effective ways of reducing the cost of bills and lowering the carbon footprint.

She noted: "These types of insulation are simple and cheap to install."

Added to this, Ms Hewitson claimed that solar water heating can be used to reduce the cost of bills, explaining that they generate warm domestic hot water using solar panel technology fitted to the roof.

Meanwhile, James Pugh, associate director at DJD Architects, recently revealed that energy-efficient improvements have become an increasing concern for Britons.

Mr Pugh said that many DIY homeowners are looking to make improvements that are good for the environment and will lead to reduced fuel bills.
