Homeowners urged to make energy-efficient improvements

Homeowners urged to make energy-efficient improvementsBritons are being urged to take steps to improve the environmental credentials of their property.

Sir Terence Conran, founder of the Conran Design Group, points out that by making a home more energy-efficient homeowners can not only reduce their carbon footprint but they can generate significant savings on their utility bills.

Indeed, such steps could see the average household save some £340 a year, those looking towards eco DIY projects could be interested to hear.

Among the ways in which this can be done include the installation of renewable energy sources, such as solar panels and wind turbines, as well as eco-friendly lightbulbs and water-saving features.

"Today, more than every before, good intelligent design and green design are one and the same," he states.

Speaking earlier this month, Ottokar Rosenberger, sales and marketing director for Ratedpeople.com, claimed that improving a property's energy rating can not only boost a home's energy-efficiency rating but also increase its overall value.ADNFCR-2244-ID-19357423-ADNFCR
