Building company set to create new homes from plastic

Building company set to create new homes from plasticIn news that is likely to be of interest to DIY enthusiasts, a building firm in Swansea has announced it is to create new homes made entirely from recycled waste, BBC News reports.

The company stated it has developed technology to build low carbon, eco-friendly houses from the waste of plastic and minerals.

Financed by the Welsh Assembly Government money, the company stated its intention to launch a range of green homes, while it also claimed that green properties could help to transform the building industry.

Indeed, Ian McPherson, managing director of the firm, said that the new technology could change the market for ever.

"Every country in the world has issues with waste and we now have an opportunity to turn waste into an enduring housing resource that is 100 per cent recyclable," he told the website.

Meanwhile, Guardian journalist James Randerson recently encouraged Britons to make their homes more energy efficient to help reduce the cost of household bills.
