    Property market continues to strengthen

Property market continues to strengthenHouse prices continued to increase during June, the Land Registry has revealed.

Over the course of the month, the average value of a property purchased rose 1.6 per cent - the third consecutive monthly rise - to stand at £191,423.

Such a figure also marks the first time that house prices have surpassed the £190,000 mark since the beginning of the year.

Those looking to get to grips with DIY in order to further boost the value of their property may be interested to hear bungalows saw the most dramatic price increase, with this type of property surging some 2.4 per cent during June.

Meanwhile, semi-detached and detached homes saw growth of 1.9 and 1.7 per cent respectively.

However, property values for the month are down 10.7 per cent from the same period in 2008.

Getting to grips with DIY with the specific intention of raising house values could be recommended as the National Housing Federation recently stated that although the average price of property will fall 4.6 per cent next year, 2011 and 2012 will see respective increases of 1.1 and 7.5 per cent.ADNFCR-2244-ID-19309376-ADNFCR
