    Suits swapped for community DIY

Suits swapped for community DIYAlthough they are typically used to laptops and business lunches, a group of office workers from Yorkshire recently got out of their suits and stuck into some DIY, it has been revealed.

Employees from the Leeds branch of Eversheds volunteered to give Rotherham education facility the Rowan Centre a facelift.

Working alongside staff from the Leeds and Sheffield offices of PricewaterhouseCoopers, the volunteers gave the centre a fresh coat of paint and spruced up the garden.

Jo Smith of the centre, which provides education and guidance to young mothers and pregnant girls, told the Star: "The outside space had got a bit tired and overgrown, so their work will make a huge difference and give the school a fresh feel."

The paint and equipment required for the DIY initiative was donated by the Rotherham branch of Wickes.

But the office workers have not been alone in tackling DIY as residents from Hull's Ings estate were recently taught tiling and various other home improvement skills by maintenance staff at Chevin Housing Association.ADNFCR-2244-ID-19326688-ADNFCR
