Interior design 'should be considered' for home office

Home Office Project - lets-do-diy.comBritons looking to set up a home office are being advised to carefully consider the interior design for such a project.

DIY enthusiasts may be interested to read claims made by Enterprise Nation founder Emma Jones that the part of a property selected to work from should have plenty of natural light coming into it.

Writing in a blog entry for the Independent, she states that "soft tones of blues and greens" when decorating a home are advisable as these colours are not only effective in helping the room create an air of productivity, they will also encourage those using them to buckle down and get on with their work.

She adds that a home office can be set up in various parts of a property, ranging from the attic to the garden shed or spare bedroom.

Ms Jones claims: "Working at the end of the garden path is becoming increasingly popular and the garden office industry is booming on the back of it."

However, she has not been the only one to lend thought to such a DIY project as artist Malcolm Temple recently told the Guardian how he has designed and built a shed in the garden of his London property to use as a home office.
