A DIY company has launched a new range of environmentally friendly paints. The new 'Earth Balance' product is said to contain 22 per cent lower embodied carbon content, while it is also 99 per cent solvent free.Further to this, to contribute to a lower carbon footprint, the paint is held in a 56 per cent recycled steel pack and the colour samples are also printed on recyclable paper. The range boasts 24 colours - 18 of which are new and exclusive - available in a 2.5 litre pack size, while ten colours are available in a five litre pack size.Sally Heppenstall, the manufacturer's marketing manager, explained that the development of the new range is testament to the company's commitment to helping the environment. She added: "We are also working with the CarbonNeutral Company to offset carbon emissions arising from the manufacture and distribution of every can of Earth Balance."A carbon footprint is the total set of greenhouse gas emissions created by a product.Posted by Thomas Morris
