Consumers who may have previously considered employing a tradesman to carry out decorating tasks around the home have been advised that certain jobs can be easy to complete.
Undertaking basic DIY tasks such as wallpapering a feature wall can be easy to complete and can help consumers to save money during the current recession, as individuals will not have to pay out for a tradesman to complete the job.
Content editor at House To Home Ben Richards said that jobs such as this may prove to be easy to complete.
“Often basic DIY jobs are a lot easier than you might think and I’d always recommend people do some research and have a go,” he said.
However, there is a big difference between giving a wall a makeover and undertaking a complex plumbing job, he said. So potential DIY-ers should ensure they are confident they can complete a job without it going wrong and without having to fork out for repair work, Mr Richards advised.
His comments follow research from Sainsbury’s Home Insurance which indicates that as the recession has deepened, more and more Brits are turning their hand to DIY in an effort to save money.
