A significant number of Britons are looking to get stuck into DIY projects over the coming weeks, it has been suggested.
In research carried out by discount firm MyVoucherCodes.co.uk just under half (43 per cent) of people claim that they would be looking to spend both their money and time getting to grips with home improvements over the summer months.
Pointing out that people have “plumped for a summer of DIY“, Mark Pearson, managing director of MyVoucherCodes.co.uk, states that such a trend “is wise considering that home improvement will obviously benefit in the long run as house prices continue to slowly improve”.
The popularity of home improvement was also seen in that out of the firm’s current top three partnered discounters two of them are DIY retailers – a chart which is usually dominated by electrical retailers.
One DIY project homeowners may wish to consider is redecorating as a recent Halifax study revealed that such work can boost a property’s value by more than £2,230.
