Beyond acting as a property extension, DIY enthusiasts will be interested to know that conservatories also perform the function of insulating heat in homes, earthtimes.org reports.
In fact, a conservatory can allow Britons to reduce the cost of their annual energy bills because they enable the natural heat from the sun to be fed through to the living area.
The website explained: "This means that you need not turn on your heating should you still be feeling the cold indoors, therefore bringing a very noticeable reduction in your energy bills over time."
Added to this, it has been revealed that Britons can eliminate heat loss and further reduce the cost of household bills by having uPVC windows installed.
uPVC windows are sealed very tightly, which means that draughts are unable to seep through into homes.
Daily Mirror journalists Ruki Sayid and Tricia Phillips recently advised homeowners to cut the cost of their utilities bills by making some DIY improvements.
