DIY lovers could take inspiration from award winners

Updated:5th September 2019No Comments1 Min Read

DIY lovers could take inspiration from award winnersThose looking for help or advice before carrying out a DIY project could find that they are inspired by the winners of the Telegraph homebuilding and renovation awards.

Overall winner for best renovation went to Shaun Beverly for his converted 1970s bungalow in Lytham St Annes. Its transformation took a total of four years to complete, but in the end it was all worth it.

"This is the only house I haven’t designed myself from scratch and, actually, it’s the one I’m happiest in," he commented after picking up the award.

Winner of the best conversion award was achieved by Irena Murray, after creating two new living areas in her barn, which offer breathtaking views of the surrounding area thanks to the addition of huge windows.

Meanwhile, Cathie Curran picked up the title for best remodel after knocking down her ground-floor walls and fashioning an "ideal family home" by transforming her kitchen and lounge area.
