With Christmas just round the corner, many people will be hoping to neaten up their homes in time for the family heading round to eat and open their presents.
And Sadolin’s DIY expert Sean Thompson has offered a number of tips for hosts on how to get the house looking spick and span this year.
He suggested those with carpets should consider going for a new look.
"Going from carpet to wooden floor boards can make an enormous difference and will add a lovely, cosy feel to the room – just perfect for the festive season," Mr Thompson said.
First, homeowners need to take up the carpets and then sand the now-exposed floorboards in the direction of the grain, before cleaning thoroughly.
It is important to add a couple of coats of varnish – again applying in the direction of the grain for the best results – to finish off the quick project.
Sadolin was originally established in Denmark in 1777 and offers woodcare products for the home, outside and for garden furniture.
