DIYers looking to improve the heat retention of their homes while saving money at the same time have been advised to invest in Access Plastics’ EcoGlaze system.
According to the company, homeowners could save up to a quarter on their energy bills by fitting the recyclable high-quality plastic and acrylic sheet on their windows, which improves insulation and reduces condensation.
With a better U-value than standard double glazing, Janine Fleming from Access Plastics commented that the system is also easy to mount.
"[It is] the most cost-effective way of reducing heat loss in all sorts of homes that don’t feature double glazing and it can be installed and taken down in just minutes using magnetic and adhesive strips," she said.
U-value measures insulation capacity, with a lower figure representing better heat retention. EcoGlaze registers at 2.7 compared to single glazing’s 5.8 and average double glazing having a rating of 3.1.
Access Plastics also offers hygienic cladding for kitchens and green house glazing panels.
