DIYers who are looking to freshen up their floors ahead of the busy festive season have been advised by Rug Doctor to self-hire a carpet-cleaning product.
Research by the company has found that homeowners who avoid professional services in favour of hiring a Rug Doctor machine could save an average of £162 and deep clean, protect and deodorise carpets in every room of the house for under £40.
With detergent and stain repellent products also available to use with the appliance and Christmas just around the corner, Paul Fildes, marketing manager of the business, believes that having a clean house is easy to achieve.
"If you can fill a bucket and can vacuum a carpet then you can use a Rug Doctor," he said.
According to the Carpet and Rug Institute – which has endorsed a Carpet Cleaning Tips for Dummies book – well looked-after, good-quality carpeting could last for up to 15 years.
