While many football managers are concentrating on getting the best out of their team as the season draws to a close, one boss has also been working on home improvements.
Mick McCarthy, boss of Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers, reveals that as well as spending time attempting to get the best of his players, he has also been concentrating on getting to grips with DIY.
Pointing out that he has been waking up early every day to do work in his home, the former Sunderland and Republic of Ireland manager reveals he got out of bed at 06:00 BST last Saturday (April 18th) to varnish his garage doors before his side played Queens Park Rangers.
“I get a lot of pleasure out of DIY,” the manager states.
However, the day was not all about DIY as after varnishing the doors, McCarthy led his side to victory, with the win guaranteeing their promotion to the Premier League next season.
Meanwhile, Mike Blair – captain of the Scottish rugby union side – revealed earlier this year that he has been doing some DIY work on his new house.
