Those Britons looking to sell their property are taking steps to make it more attractive to would-be buyers, it has been suggested.
As such, because consumers do not want to chance the prospect of losing out on a sale, Little House Company director Jane Marr claims they are increasingly looking “to meet the expectations of buyers who expect better value for money”.
One means of doing this could be to carry out DIY projects – such as redecorating or fitting a new bathroom – which could not only help to attract would-be purchasers but also boost a home’s overall value.
Getting to grips with home improvements could be particularly advisable, as Ms Marr claims that “it is without a doubt still a buyer’s market”.
Her comments come as a recent Rightmove study revealed that monthly asking prices for property increased for the fifth time this year over the course of July.
Meanwhile, now could be an ideal time for consumers to put a home up for sale as Gary Smith, president of the National Association of Estate Agents, recently stated the housing market “is in a far stronger position than it was 12 months ago”.
