Britons should not be intimidated by carrying out DIY projects, according to one expert.
The DIY whiz Andrew Bernard has claimed that with the right safety measures in place, anyone is able to transform their own home.
Further to this, Mr Bernard claimed that things "can’t go wrong" provided the correct safety precautions have been taken.
Indeed, he insisted that DIY enthusiasts should not be discouraged from undertaking home improvement projects if they do make mistakes because "DIY is really easy".
Mr Bernard suggested that homeowners can save themselves significant sums by conducting painting and decorating home improvements themselves.
He said: "You can do paint and decorate yourself you just have to think it through, look what you are doing, maybe read up on it, check on the internet, it is that easy."
Meanwhile, interior designer Nina Campbell writing in the Telegraph, has advised Britons to redecorate their homes every five years in order to keep them appearing fresh and new.
