The glamorous life of a top-flight footballer is usually associated with flash cars, expensive jewellery and Wags. However, it also extends to home improvements.
An article in the Daily Mirror reveals how players at Manchester United have a team of staff on hand at all times of day and night to lend a hand with DIY.
Led by player liaison manager Barry Moorhouse, such staff are willing to carry out any home improvement tasks for the Premier League champions no matter how small – whether it ranges from changing lighting to fixing a problem in the bathroom – so they can fully concentrate on the sport.
“You can ask Barry anything. When you have a problem with your car, the Jacuzzi or the light, he is there,” Patrice Evra, the club’s French left-back, claims.
“Some people describe me as a Jim’ll Fix It,” Mr Moorhouse adds.
However, Evra and the rest of the United squad looking to take a more active role with regards to DIY might wish to follow the example of Fernando Torres from rival club Liverpool.
Speaking to Click Liverpool recently, the Spainish striker revealed he is “pretty good” at DIY.
