A new name in the UK tool market, Dapen Ltd, is launching an innovative drill and driver system. The DrillNDrive can be used with most power drills and eliminates the need to change chuck, drill or driver bits.
The Dapen DrillNDrive has a driver sleeve that locates over a countersink and drill bit. Incorporated into this combination is an adjustable locking screw that allows the depth of the pilot hole to be adjusted. The driver sleeve has a magnetic ¼ inch driver bit slot that allows all types of driver bit and screws to be used.
Unlike the majority of drill and driver systems, the Dapen DrillNDrive does not require an additional quick release chuck or flip over holder. It is simply pushed onto the drill and can be removed just as easily by pulling it free. The company claims the new system is four times quicker than conventional methods of drill and driving.
The new company has been set up by David Hynds, who has previous experience of the tool business as an independent distributor for an American tool manufacturer.
The DrillNDrive is likely to be followed by further innovations, as Dapen have several other ideas on the drawing board ready for development through 2009/10.
Manufactured in the UK, the Dapen DrillNDrive is available as a 14 piece set with a suggested retail price of £19.99.
