There is no excuse for homeowners not to take steps to improve the sustainability of their home, it has been suggested.
In a piece for the Guardian, BBC television Dick Strawbridge presenter states that despite concerns by some Britons that eco-friendly DIY projects such as loft insulation can be expensive, they can actually be carried out very competitive prices.
“In the 21st century there is no excuse for not being able to get stuck into any eco-project,” he claims, adding that the materials needed for such home improvements can often be sourced locally and with ease.
However, Mr Strawbridge does point out the need to follow any legislation, meaning that obtaining DIY advice before starting a project could well be recommended.
In a recent Daily Telegraph article, Jeff Howell claimed that as last winter was the coldest on record for 13 years, taking the time to fit loft insulation could be well recommended.
