DIY advice has been given to a number of people in Widnes after the Halton Housing Trust organised a day of hints and tips for novices.
The day-long course saw customers given advice on a number of projects including plug wiring, tap fitting, pipe cutting and basic plumbing.
Debbie Jameson, customer involvement officer for the Halton Housing Trust, said the day was organised to make "DIY work less daunting" for members of the public.
Ms Jameson confirmed the course was "really well-received" and the Housing Trust is now expected to organise a number of similar events across 2010.
She added: "Everyone who attended the day came away with a new set of skills".
Earlier in the week, B&Q announced that they would host a series of courses to help customers improve their knowledge of DIY.
A survey published by the hardware store found that younger people are lagging behind the older generation with their handiwork skills.
