DIY enthusiasts who are hoping to renovate, refurbish or redecorate their homes in 2010 have been encouraged to add rugs to their properties.
And there is no better time than now to invest in such products, according to the Plantation Rug Company, as they have the ability to keep houses warm, which is particularly important during the cold snap.
Jane Molloy, interior stylist for the organisation, commented that homeowners would do well to plump for a rug.
"Wool rugs offer the best solution for warmth and style," she said.
"In a variety of colours, textures, patterns and plains rugs can change the look and feel of a room immediately."
She added that a Union Jack design is set to become particularly popular this year, while other trends for 2010 should include the company’s Taj Agra pattern and Arctic range.
The retailer also offers a bespoke design service, allowing homeowners to match up their own colour, shape, style and size.
