Britons are spending more money on garden lighting as they attempt to undertake home improvement projects.
That is according to Jonathan Lucas, managing director of Elstead Lighting, who said that there has been growing interest in landscape lighting in recent months.
He added that prices for this kind of product have been a deterrent in the past but now rising demand for good quality has led to a reduction in this pressure.
"We have seen a trend where people are tending to stay put in the house they are in rather than moving," Mr Lucas noted.
"The property market is not [as] buoyant as it was and there is more spend going on to develop the home and that also covers the garden," he explained.
Earlier this month, a report from home improvement company Everest suggested that 18 million people in the UK plan to upgrade their properties over the next year.
