DIY enthusiasts have been given advice regarding the new boiler scrappage scheme introduced this month in the chancellor of the exchequer Alistair Darling’s pre-Budget report.
The scrappage scheme will see people with energy-inefficient boilers given grants of up to £400 to go toward the cost of a new, eco-friendly appliance, which should save them money on energy bills.
According to online tradesperson recommendation service Rated People, taking advantage of the programme and installing a new boiler could be a very good idea.
Ottokar Rosenberger, director of sales and marketing for the firm, commented: "The newly announced boiler scrappage scheme will be of great benefit to home owners, in terms of the money they will be able to save and the value that ecologically friendly boilers can add to homes."
He added that this would help to emphasise sustainability in the home, something that is of growing importance in the 21st century.
Rated People aims to assist renovators in finding recommended tradespersons to carry out jobs that are outside their capabilities.
