He has been used to banging in the goals in the Premier League over the past two seasons but Liverpool striker Fernando Torres reveals that he is also proficient with the likes of hammers and screwdrivers.
Speaking to Click Liverpool, the Spanish international reveals that upon moving home he had a lot of furniture to set up.
However, instead of calling in a professional to do such work the striker took to DIY and put everything up himself.
“I spend a lot of time at home with my girlfriend Olalla and my dogs Yanta and Pomo so the last thing I wanted was the place to be in a mess,” Torres points out, going to claim that he is “pretty good” when it comes to home improvements.
Meanwhile, a club insider clams that ‘El Nino’ is so good at DIY that if he had not become a professional footballer then he may have ended up going into the building trade.
Speaking in April, Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Mick McCarthy pointed out that he gets “a lot of pleasure out of DIY” and was busy carrying out home improvements while guiding his side to promotion to the Premier League.
