DIY enthusiasts have been told of the versatility of wood, a material that can be used all around the home.
According to recent figures from Santander Mortgages, today’s first-time buyers spend nearly twice as much on filling their home as those in the 1970s.
Clare Pascoe, director of Pascoe Interiors, explained why wood is the ideal material for interior decorations and furniture.
“It is an incredibly versatile product that suits contemporary to traditional interiors alike,” she said.
“Whether it be a simply designed vintage piece; a classic chair; stunning wide board oak flooring or intricate marquetry, wood has a key place in every interior – and will do for the foreseeable future.”
She also noted that flexibility is one of the key advantages of wood, as well as its ability to coexist with modern technology.
Meanwhile, Carolyn Park, head of design practice for Carolyn Park Interior Design, recently observed that DIY projects using timber are very fashionable at the moment.
