Improvements for 'hardest working part of a property'

Kitchen Home Improvement - lets-do-diy.comThe kitchen could well be an ideal place for a DIY project, it has been suggested.

Pointing out that this part of the home is "the hardest working room in the house", an article in the Sunday Times reveals the typical kitchen is put to many uses ranging from cooking to acting as a bedroom for pets.

As such, the publication asserts that the room is a "constant inspiration to designers" and that there are a range of possible ways that it can be improved, with space saving features proving to be particularly popular at present.

However, the newspaper acknowledges that having a bespoke kitchen is likely to be beyond the budgets of many homeowners this year.

Consequently, those looking to fit a new kitchen on a limited amount of money were advised to take "the smart option".

This involved the installation of "canny lighting" and reducing how much goes towards cabinets.

Meanwhile, recent figures by Halifax revealed an average of £6,300 is spent on improving a kitchen.
