DIY enthusiasts offered new home insulation product

DIY enthusiasts offered new home insulation productA UK-based insulation supplier has experienced a significant rise in demand for its dry lining boards, as Britons realise the value of DIY energy saving.

It has been claimed that up to 20 per cent of household heating can be lost through inefficient wall insulation, and the company has insisted that its new range can address this loss of heat by significantly improving the U-value of walls and ceilings.

The insulation provider also revealed that the polystyrene insulation, which is bonded to 9.5 mm plasterboard, can be easily fixed by DIY enthusiasts.

Danny Phelan, the sales manager with the firm, said: "It provides an effective insulation solution for both walls and ceilings. The ultimate beneficiary is the homeowner, who benefits from savings on their energy bills, as well as a reduction in their carbon footprint."

Meanwhile, a rival DIY company recently launched a new range of environmentally friendly paints.

The new 'Earth Balance' product is said to contain 22 per cent lower embodied carbon content, while it is also 99 per cent solvent free.
