An attractive bathroom can be a great selling point in a home and some simple DIY tasks can make it look much more presentable.
In an article for the Daily Stamford newspaper, interiors expert Fenella Pearson offered some advice on how to attract buyers with a well-maintained bathroom.
She said changing the taps in the sink and bath is an easy update that can have a lot of impact.
"Gleaming new faucets will tell potential buyers you've taken good care of your home," she pointed out.
Grubby grout and cracked tiles can also let a bathroom down, so re-tiling can be another effective way to update the room.
Furthermore, old toilets, sinks and baths can be replaced relatively cheaply, Ms Pearson claimed.
Of course a luxurious suite will cost a little more, but if homeowners are remodelling simply to sell, then a basic white suite will do the job.
