In news that is likely to interest DIY enthusiasts, a home design expert has claimed that renovating any kitchen can be a daunting task.
According to David Ferguson, writing for yourhome.ca, the kitchen is the one room in the house that "few of us can live without and most of us need to be practical".
"With so many things to think about in a correctly functioning kitchen," Mr Ferguson said, "it’s best to thoroughly work through a plan on paper weighing your basic options."
In order to make a kitchen appear "more attractive and functional", he urged homeowners to take some time to gather ideas from home centres, magazines, books and kitchen design stores.
Meanwhile, Anna-Marie DeSouza, deputy editor at Build It magazine, has insisted that interior designers should focus on "keeping things natural, low key and sophisticated" this summer.
Ms DeSouza observed that "white walls and statement pieces, coupled with clean lines" are especially popular features of kitchen design at present.
