Increasing numbers of British homeowners are enjoying carrying out DIY projects if the latest figures from home improvement store Taskers are anything to go by.
According to the retailer’s latest sales figures, annual revenue at the end of 2009 is expected to be close to £20 million, while net profit margins are predicted to have increased from last year.
These "positive" results could well have been helped by a 17 per cent annual increase in sales of curtain poles, tracks and blinds during the first week of December, while wallcoverings saw a 34 per cent yearly boost over the first seven days of the month.
Managing director of the store John Tasker commented: "We pride ourselves on selecting the best products that we know will appeal to our customers and make them available at a fair price."
Taskers was established in Liverpool more than 50 years ago and today offers consumers over 60,000 products in two retail sites in the city.
