There is no time like the present for people to get out into their gardens, it has been suggested.
Ratedpeople.com points out that as the autumn sets in, October is the perfect month for people to seed a lawn as the ground is still warm enough for plants to germinate quickly.
It also states that the mild autumn conditions should be taken advantage of to carry out any outstanding home improvement jobs before temperatures drop even further.
Claiming October tends to be the last month of the year where homeowners can spend time in their garden while largely avoiding bad weather, Ottokar Rosenberger, sales and marketing director for Ratedpeople.com, asserts "it marks the ideal time to get all those little jobs done that will help the garden look its best during winter and be easier to work on come spring".
Meanwhile, horticulturist Matt James recently claimed that as people see their garden as "an extra room" they are putting in time and money in ensuring their outdoor space is perfect.
