One Championship footballer has been spending the last week juggling starting pre-season training with completing a DIY project, it has been revealed.
During the past few days, Crystal Palace defender Matt Lawrence points out he has “put in about 15 man hours” painting his children’s bedrooms.
And despite the country being hit by high temperatures, Lawrence writes in a column for the Mirror that he has “battled through” the heatwave.
Indeed, his keenness for DIY can be seen in how he had originally contacted professional painters and decorators to do the work for them, but later called them off to do it himself.
But as his side returned to pre-season training yesterday (July 1st), the defender points out that his dad will now lend him a hand in finishing off the DIY project.
Meanwhile, Ian Holloway told the Sun in May that following his appointment as manager of Blackpool he has had to leave his wife Kim to complete painting their lounge.
