Brits are being a shade braver when it comes to DIY work.
Research carried out by B&Q shows a third of people are now making use of vibrant colours and bold prints while decorating.
One in five reveal that they are experimenting with blue and green, while 13 per cent are opting for a vibrant red.
A tenth are choosing pink, with just under a fifth (19 per cent) go for yellow.
Indeed, painting and decorating appears to be a popular choice for DIY, as 86 per cent of consumers have bought paint over the last 12 months, while around two-thirds have invested in lighting.
Findings from the DIY retailer show that 62 per cent are looking to integrate more of their personality into their home and 17 per cent of respondents have created a feature wall.
The Co-operative Bank recently revealed that a third of people got to grips with painting and decorating over the Easter break, while 29 per cent spent time doing some gardening.
