DIY homeowners have been encouraged to turn their attention to public gardens for inspiration.
Speaking on behalf of Ronseal, leading garden designer Michelle Wake explained that public gardens can inspire Britons to give their backyard a much-needed revamp.
“People tend to get stuck in a bit of a rut, they don’t think about changing their gardens,” she said.
“They can get out and go to the shows – the RHS shows, or to all of the beautiful public gardens.”
Ms Wake added that England is home to some of the “most beautiful gardens in the world, so there really is no excuse for lacking in inspiration”.
Meanwhile, Jeff Howell, writing for the Daily Telegraph, recently issued some advice to homeowners seeking to keep cool this summer.
Mr Howell identified ventilation as the key to remaining comfortable in stifling temperatures.
To this aim, he advised DIY enthusiasts to open roof windows, loft hatches and windows downstairs.
