B&Q is offering a special gift opportunity to all pregnant women across the UK – the B&Q Baby Bonus. The company is committed to giving a B&Q Gift Card to the value of £250 to any expectant mother who goes into labour while in a B&Q store or car park.
There has been a spate of mums going into labour while shopping at B&Q, including Charlotte Church in December last year. To mark these momentous events, the UK and Europe’s largest home improvement store, has decided to deliver an early birthday present to help decorate the newborn’s nursery.
One new mum delighted with the introduction of the B&Q Baby Bonus is Gaby Harris of Finchley. Gaby’s waters broke whilst shopping in her local B&Q in Whetstone.
“You hear all these myths about companies giving you free food or nappies if your waters break in their store, but you never expect to actually be in the situation yourself,” she said. “My husband and I were very excited when we heard about the B&Q Baby Bonus and we can’t wait to spend the money on some pink paint and other items for Tallulah’s nursery.”
Jacqueline Caston, external relations manager at B&Q, says: “We are introducing the B&Q Baby Bonus scheme to ensure new mums can create a stylish haven for their new arrival – after all, going into labour can be stressful at any time, let alone on the shop floor! After Charlotte Church’s well-publicised B&Q labour last year we wanted to find a way to support any future B&Q births nationwide.”
