Indeed, research carried out by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (Rics) indicates that eight per cent more surveyors believe house prices will increase instead of fall over the next three months.
Such a balance is the highest recorded by the organisation since April 2007.

Meanwhile, 63 per cent of respondents have seen an increase – rather than a fall – in enquires from new buyers last month.
Despite this rise, Rics spokesperson Jeremy Leaf claims that demand "remains low from a historical perspective".
"Crucially, it is the lack of supply that is helping to underpin prices at the present time," he adds.
